Clutch change!

I have a 91 1500 4x2 that I will need to change the clutch in, oh it has the 4.3ltr too. Was wondering if there are any helpful hints to doing this, and if there is an alternative to getting the flywheel turned. ie scuffing the surface. Is there anyway to tell which clutch goes into this truck, I seee that there are 2 differant clutch kits offered for this vehicle.

Re: Clutch change!

If your flywheel is still the stock flywheel I would recomend getting the number off of it, and buying a new. I have a 95, and I installed a new flywheel. It did not affect my release at all. Just make sure the clutch you get is for your truck. The more expensive is probably a performance. The alignment tool will come with the clutch, make sure it is in the box. Use it. If you have never done this before, good luck.
