Re: Heater Control Vale

There is no valve of any sort that controls the flow of coolant either in or out of the heater core.

Hey Randman today changing heater core i must have hit some wires above actuator arm above core cover molding, silver box with couple of clusters going into it.One cluster ,the connector is white with blue tabs could this have the DIC and compass wires cause sometimes my display would cut out and in,few days ago I got it to stay but now I must have bumped it and display is gone.
thanx

Re: Heater Control Vale

Yep sounds like it.

The DIC module is the shiney silver box above the actuator arm. I have problems with my compass and DIC too. During my engine swap, I decided to take advantage of having the dash removed and pull the module to clean all of the pins both on the connector and the module. I used both rubbing alclhol and an improvised sandpaper scraper but it did not help one bit. My displays only make cameo appearances every once in a while. I believe the problem is in the cluster.
