Blew my Subwoofers out. Help plz
Hey guys, its not really for a car, but u guys are the best at audio, and i had no other place to go...
So here it is, stupid me, listening to loud music got my subs blown out. The sub is a 10 inch (both speakers were blown). Only the subs though, they were old, so i guess that was a reason too... anyways. The speakers are 100 watts each, so i need 2 new 10 inch subs that can fit in the box. Anywbody knows were i can get some cheap ones?? i dont need high quality.. only something that can fit.

Sorry that I can't help, but replacing subs for tower speakers? Never heard of that before.

Christ! How loud did you have that thing? You better take care of your hearing, man.
Assuming your system can handle the extra OHMs, I'd just use regular car subwoofers. Radio shack might have replacement 10" woofers too. I got a pair of KLH satellite speakers in the living room where the 4 inch woofers blew. Got a replacement set of 4 inch woofers from Radio Shack and they sound great now. I forget what brand they are though.

If it's for surround/stereo speakers for your home, make sure to get paper cones. They have MUCH better quality sound than any of the name brand car audio subs.

It wasn't that loud actually, lol, the speakers are kinda old, so, ya, i guess mgonna go to RadioShack (The Source now) and check. I think those speakers came from Radio Shack a long time ago.. My amp can handle 8 ohms, its an old amp, only 200 watts

i think i found the solution, the thing that blew up is the foam surrounding the papercone speaker itself and the subwoofer frame, so i gotta find some new 10 inches compatible foam surroundings. :P
