99 Amigo turns but does not start

Hi all
I am new to this forum. I have a 99 Amigo, 3.2L (love it). It stalled a week back as I accelerated from a stop. Tried starting it several times. Each time it would start, but stall after a few seconds (5 seconds to a minute initially). Left the truck for a week as I had to leave town. Came back and this time it started, stayed on for about 3 minutes the first time, and died. The idle speed varied during this time. From after that, it turns but never starts.

Fuel pump? could it be the alternator? Or the pump relay? Or for that matter, any other component of the fuel system that leads to such symptoms and can be replaced without replacing the fuel pump. I will greatly appreciate suggestions about things I can do to differentiate between these possibilities. I do not have access to a lot of tools, and may finally have to depend on a shop, but I sure want to know more and not go in blind. I don’t want any shop fooling with my Isuzu.

Thanks a thousand, Nimo

Re: 99 Amigo turns but does not start

It could be something as simple as a plugged up fuel filter.
