Odd Dome Light Issue

I have a 2000 S-10 Blazer and my dome light will not turn off automatically. I can turn it off by the dome over-ride switch or after the maximum time the computer turns it off so that it will not burn the battery. The timer based shut off is not working. No doors or hatch open indicators. Has anyone seen this behavior before? Might this be a warning that something else has gone out such as a light bulb or something? Any comments would be great.

Re: Odd Dome Light Issue

One of the switches that turns the dome light off is faulty, this happened to me too. Start out by checking the one on the back gate. either the gate is not putting enough pressure on the switch, or one is broken.

Wouldn't I see the gate idiot light come on if that was the case?

It cold be your rear window hatch - that doesn't have an idiot light. I have a popper on my remote keyfob and must have bumped one night. Took me 10 mins to figure out what I did.
