1988 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am GTA vs. 2000 Chevy Camaro Z28 LS1

I was planning on buying the Firebird until one someone told me that the Camaro would be better.

More to the point I was told the Camaro would be faster but I wanted to make sure whether or not it was true.

To be safe, Ill say that a 3rd gen Firebird and Camaro as well as a 4th gen Firebird or Camaro are basicly the same. Its a matter of which model of each you get that will determine which has more power.

If they're both bone stock, the LS1 is gonna smoke the L98 (gta).

yep. go for the camaro. i have a 3rd gen but im already looking forward to my next car, a 4th gen... good things? lighter, better fuel consumption, more power, most of the body dont rust, (cept hood and rear panels), better bolton parts, stronger transmission.

3rdgen? i like how they look..a LOT more.

Re: 1988 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am GTA vs. 2000 Chevy Camaro Z28 LS1

they are the same man...

97 firebird formula (0-60) 5.7 seconds 285hp
97 camaro z28 (0-60) 5.8 seconds 285hp

2000 firebird formula (0-60) 5.3 seconds 305hp
2000 camaro z28 (0-60) 5.3 seconds 305hp.

they are the same man..

l think firebird looks much much better then camaros.. sexier and more agressive. (my opinion)

when l was looking for a firebird to buy, l couldnt find any good for me. and my wife told me lets look at some camaros and l said HELL NO! l just do not like how they look.

performance is the same..(93-02)

If you want fast . The LS1 Camaro will be on top . The 80's car had too much restriction with smog shit on them . Mid 90's they finally figured how to build power . Although I don't like the looks of the Camaro front end . The T/A has better aerodynamics ,ALL years . I get 28 to 30 mpg in my 2K T/A . Personal preference is the key .Rob
