96 z24

I own a 1996 Z24 and the 1/4 mile time is a stock 16.9 obviously slow but all i did was take out the air box and tubing and hooked up a 7 dollar cone filter about 6 inches from the throttle body and it beat a 2004 toyota celica GT-S that normally runs about a 15.5 so anyone that says cavaliers aren't worth it who else can get that kind of power from 7 bucks and does anyone know any good companies to use for upgrades for the Z24

For real bro...hes not messing around on this one. It's one of our good friends, were all into car's, but the sad thing is my car cost about 6g, Mgless's car was about 3g, and his car was 27,350....we have a scan of the window sticker. He has a "Invidia" tail section that cost almost $500!!!! He droped $800 on winter tires like nothing....so what I'm sayin is this kid is LOADED, and his car honestly does suck in a straight line. He is hard as hell to hang with in the turns tho. The only thing he has againts him from stock are some 18" Enki rims, but they are wraped in toyo proxy 4's....some pretty sticky tires. Its funny to go and beat up his car in a straight line with two cars that together cost 1/3 of his.

If you want I have some pics and vids of this celica in action. I even have time slips of him racing agents me (I have a 97 mustang that runs about a 14.5 quarter) that show his times. They averaged to about a 16.3 over about 16 runs that night.

Re: 96 z24

If you are suggesting that mgless is correct, you are wrong. There is a threat around here about a guy in his ecotec using giggle juice to beat a celica gts... And FYI the amount of money someone has doesn't make their car faster...

are you kidding me, you are doubting your own makes and models, i killed this celica in my 1990 mx6 gt, all i have is a cone and turbo back 2.5 exhaust, sport compact car and turbo magazine called the 2000 plus celica gt-s one of the worst cars to mod, they spent many thousand on their project car and netted less than 15 horse and actually lost torque over stock, with a mediocre driver and that car you cant be that fast, i have seen it myself, these cars are not, and i repeat not unbeatable

Alright what he said is he has can beat our buddy's Celica GT-S which has at one or more times in his life ran a 15.5 at US131 Motorsports park....I told you we have slip. Were not tryin to piss nebody off...what we are saying is these GT-S celica's arent all there made out to be. His car has a lot of potential once he does the right mods, but right now with only 130 ft/lbs....yes 130...he has nothing pullin him off the line and through the low end of his gears. I have put down some 2.1 60' and he puts down 2.7 60' most of the time.

Thats it were gona get you a video...just to show you....remember were just showin whats true, not starting any crap.

Re: 96 z24

Wait is this Celica a 6 speed or an sportronic. Because if is it a auto and it started from a dead stop then I wouldn't be to amazed that he beat it. I don't know if anyone here has driven a GTS celica automanual before but they have the worst acceleration of any car I have ever driven from a stand still. Buddy of mine has an 02 and i used to beat the crap out of him in my Grand Am GT.

No were gona make one tonight....Micigan weather. And it is a Manual Trans..the six speed. Its a pretty crapy six tho. He cannot shit into sixth at any time and expect pull, it it terrible...Its like the gear is just there for crusin.

The reason we dont have a new vid right now is cuz there has been plenty of snow and slush on the ground the past few days. Were gona get him out tonight or thurs. and make a vid of a few of us racin him...just so you guys can get an idea of what he is like agents a few other cars.

...I have to make these vids quick before the snow really hits.....ya its true im parkin my pony this winter... Anyway VIDS SOON.

Preferably you leave that attempt out of the video.

Re: 96 z24

What part of Michigan? I will personally drive anywhere in Michigan to see a cone filter Z24 beating a Celica. And I want to ride in the Celica.
