1999 Chev Blazer Hood release

The hood release cable under the dash has snapped. Is there a way to manually open the hood?

If you can see the underhood mechanism and have 1/2 way decent access to it a long screw driver will work.
Push on the clip that holds the cable in the direction that the cable pulls it.
