Power steering, and door hinge pins

I posted these in the Nova catagory where they belong, but I am not getting any responses... So off to the A-body catagory we go:

My driver side door has more lift to it than Gravedigger. It is now apparent to me that my hinge replacement procrastinion is going to land me in a bad spot. So how do I replace that whole roller and pin assy. Do I have to take the door off?

Can you put the power steering set up from a 350 on a 250? If not? How can I put power steering on my 72 Nova? I am very sick of my steering ratio and the only way that I would even consider making it closer was if it was powered.

Door hinge tool http://www.eastwoodco.com/shopping/p...ProductID=1689

The power steering box for a 250 and a 350 is the same. The pump is the same, but the bracket is different. Any GM straight six setup will work in your car. Check junk yards. E-mail direct I'll send you photos

I replaced my Chevelle hinge pin and rollers this year. The doors did come off, as they were being sanded and painted too. I think with careful planning and support you can do a hinge at a time without removing the door. That's a good link that mdcamaro provided. I wish I knew about that tool back then. To replace the roller I hacksawed it off and bought the replacement kit rollers from the Paddock. They worked good. Maybe there was an easier way than what I did, but the end result was OK.

Huhuh, great, thanks guys. I think I can handle it, that's what younger brothers are for... holding door. At least I hope he'll help. You shoulda seen how pissed he was when he soon realized that I was lying when I said block sanding the car would only take a few hours lol.

Year One has rebuild kits and new hinges. Check Pep Boy and auto Zone in those red blister "help " packs
