I know that Ford owns, or at least has some kind of deal with Mazda. The B200 is practically identical to the ranger, at least from the outside. So I thought mazda actually produced the engines, but then someone told me that Mazda ownes and even smaller company I've never even heard of before. Whose doing what here? Is it still a good engine? Ive heard mostly good about them.

Re: who makes ranger engines?
The 2.0l, 2.3l, 3.0l are all american engines. The 2.9land the 4.0l are german built. Ford sold rangers to mazda hence the b2300 is a 2.3l, the b3000 is a 3.0l, the b4000 is a 4.0l ford ranger.
