car seems to be choking

sometimes my car seems to be lacking fuel to the engine. This is most apparent sometimes at idle because the car sounds terrible and idles up and down at low rpms and stalls out. Also while driving it seems to be a problem at like 2500 rpms. Im not sure whats going on. Any help would be very apreciated.
thanks

Re: car seems to be choking

Vacuum leak, spark plugs, or 02 sensor.

o2 sensor issues would probably cause a check engine light.
Spark plugs are regular maintainence, and if they haven't been changed and you are overdue for a tuneup, then that maybe the culprit.

Otherwise you most likely have vacuum leak(s). Pop the hood, check all your hoses throughly. The best way is to pressure test (if you do a search you will find plenty of info...more available on www.stealth316.com) The other option is to try and visually/auditorily find the leak by listening for escaping air or spraying soapy water on all your hoses and looking for bubbles.

Re: car seems to be choking

It is probably your sparkplugs, make sure the gap is right now them and they are not miss-firering.

good luck

Re: car seems to be choking

What model car do you have, and what plugs/wires did you put in, and what did you gap them to?

Is your car stock?? if not, it is better to gap them around (.32-.34) and also you might want to get some 1step colder plugs.

would I do that by sealing off the intake before the intercoolers and pumping air through? Where can I find a site that tells how to effectivly check?
