Gas smell related to bad repair work??

I had the check engine light come on in my '95 ES 300, so I took it into the local Lexus dealer who replaced the throttle position sensor. A few days later the car started to smell strongly of gas after running for a few minutes while sitting still. Could the smell be a result of something from the new throttle position sensor being maladjusted, or an overzealous mechanic messing something up under the hood? I wanted to know to see if I should try and make the dealer pay for the repairs if it is related. Thanks

TPS can send the ECU into open-loop mode @ 75-80% throttle, & helps the transmission decide when to shift.
If the TPS is widely defective, it might hurt gas mileage a little bit, but it wouldn't cause that much fuel dumping in.

I would take it back & complain, then never go to a dealer again.

Incomplete combustion. (too little spark, too much fuel)
