Headlight Problems!!
Hey everyone, I like the board seems very useful, I did a search for my problem which seems like it happens quite a bit, but I have tried the remedy with no results. I have a 95 Jeep Cherokee Country in which i could smell my headlight switch burning, and my lights started to flicker, so I bought a new switch and installed it. Seemed to fix the problem, went a week with out a problem, then going down the highway my lights flickered off, I hit the High been switch and held it, saw that my high beams where staying on, went back to the low beams, and had no further problems. Then 3 weeks after that, made it all the way home from my commute and they started to flicker pretty bad, but now my high beams will stay on but the low beams will flicker, no smells or anything this time, im just annoyed by the wig wag effect, as I drive by people, or even better police. I do have the sentinal/courtesy light that makes them stay on 30 seconds after lights are turned off. Also when the car is sitting still, or ignition is off I have no problems. Not sure if I should by another switch, or check into a relay for the sentineal lights. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks for looking.

Welcome to the group!! As for your lights, I would pull the connector off the headlight switch and check each pin in connector on the end of the wiring harness individually to see if it is loose, pushed back, or burnt. Also I would check the ground to the switch. Good Luck!

This post is kinda old, but my hubby's 95 Cherokee Sport has the same thing going on and we cannot locate the name of the part - hoping one of you can help.
We replaced the headlight switch and still had the problem. We found that the connector at the other end of the wiring is bad (the one with 10 pins, located under the air filter housing, behind the driver's headlight, laying on top of the wheel well). One of the pins broke off in the receptacle, and there is so much corrosion that there is not any bare metal showing on the pins anymore. He is going to try to clean the pins and jumper the broken one, but the whole thing is so gunked up that we aren't sure this will work. Is there a name for this connector? Where can we buy a new one? Any help will be much appreciated.
