1996 3000gt N/a vs a 1995 mustang gt

I was wondering which one would win. My friend has a stock mustang gt and i have a 3000gt N/a. My teacher also has a 3000gt N/a and thats why i bought mine because i saw how fast and cool they were. I asked him and he said i should be able to beat him if i shift right. I was wondering wut yalls opinions would be. Thanks

If the Stang is 5 speed its a drivers race. If its auto you should take him. This is assuming the Strng is stock.

hmm, well just to increase your chances, take him from a roll... that being said, just go out and practice doing some shifts and stuff... good luck man

you can beat hm too... as long as you work your launches and shifts... take him from a dig, you'll have a better chance at him there

I thought the Mustang GTs were a lot more powerful than the 3s N/A!?!

Even the older ones were capable of running low 15s/high 14s all day. I'd say he has the advantage...although slight. But with a few mods that maybe canceled out..go out and race and find out, anything can happen.

The prelude should be easier.

Your 1996 Mitsubishi 3000GT VR-4 is the 92nd out of the 315 that were made that year. Only 21 of which are exactly identical.

yeah dude i have faith in you. the 95 stangs dident have that much hp. they sucked. tell you what here are a few hints empty your gas tank fill it a 1/4 of premiume ( if you dont use it run through your sys with a full once before u race ) then add octain buster, change your oil, and you should have an edge on him. oh make sure its synthitic or really good oil castrol is good ( my friend puts that in his 5.0) and shift really good and you might have him.

Don't go with higher octane, you are NA, you don't need it, and you have a better chance at losing power than making more with it...stick with the lowest your car is recommended for.

oh and By the way, don't put any "octane booster" in your car, from what I hear it's garbage, and it doesn't actually do wonders for your octane rating, unless it's the NOS version of the product.. good luck....but I do agree with govert, If possible get yourself a nice little short ram intake, and you could get a custom 2.25" or 2.50" exhaust (or get a VR4's stock exhaust for about 100 bucks) and that'll give you a pretty good little boost in power ...

first off how can you say only the " NOS" version works. hello du. check the back of the bottles it's the same stuff. and yeah make the boy spend about 150 bucks. also my point was it would clean his injecters making his car run better atleast for as long as he needed. and short rams suck they actualy puts hot air from the motor back into it WOW I CAN SEE THE ATVANTGE. if your lookin to put parts on, buy you a cold air intake off ebay for like 60 bucks. however be sure to get a bypass valve for it, don't wont water in your motor. and runing high premium in your car burns out the crud and skit that builds up after years of regular abuse. and for ehuast don't wast your time on a used one pick up HKS exhaust for the vr4 and slap it on there. ( ebay 715 or somthin like that retail 800) and it is offered in a performance pakage for N/A cars so it will work. oh yeah and if you have some money to burn change your plugs and wires (8.0mm anything bigger is a waste)
