New Window Motor, too weak

I replaced my Front/Driver Window motor & regulator, without window, worked just fine, with window, barely will budge! The window is in the tract on both sides. Is there an adjustment, what am I missing?

Thanks,

Nick

Make sure that the rubber stripping that sticks to the window hasn't fallen down, if you try to put up the window while its jamed in between the window and the door it will slow and stop.

Re: New Window Motor, too weak

i have been fighting with this myself. i got a regulator and motor, but they were for a grand prix not intrigue, the regulator itself is contoured differently, the window will roll down but will have a hell of a time getting back up.

check that you got the right part,

i should be getting my replacement tomorrow, and can finally stop using the weather stripping to hold up the window.

i retract the latter part of my last statement.

RockAuto sent me the wrong part. This is the fourth week, and ive had three wrong parts in my hands.

Thanks,

I have replaced that front driver side too. As someone else said make sure the rubber on the side is ok. For me it was pinched in by the window itself making it difficult to move upwards.

Re: New Window Motor, too weak

I use the old motor its much stronger then the replacement. My regulator fray wire cause the jam up.

Re: New Window Motor, too weak

One last thing to consider is the adjustment of the tracks. I noticed on my Intrigue after I changed my regulator and motor that the interior door panel moves toward the opposite side of the car when my window rolls up. That means the track adjustment is a little off. That would make it harder on the motor to make the window go up. It goes up easy at first and then hard and then easy again at the top. Once it gets past the out of adjustment part, it rolls up easy. Check to make sure yours is not adjusted a little off. Also the regulator has a set screw that may need to be opened up a little. Check both and you will probably solve your problems.
