Post Tips for gauges...

I just bought a boost gauge, air/fuel gauge, and oil pressure gauge. The boost gauge seems pretty easy to install, but the others seem complicated to an idiot like me. Any tips or suggestions for installing these??

Re: Tips for gauges...

A/F gauge goes to the ECU.

Oil goes to the oil pressure sender. Since your turbo, just tap into the stock one, or replace with the new sender. Should be by the oil filter.

Re: Tips for gauges...

what type of oil pressure gauge is it? electric or does the oil actually run to the gauge through a small tube? (can't think of the name off hand)

Re: Tips for gauges...

That would be mechanical type.

Where on the ECU does the A/F guage go?

the vfaq has the picture of the ECU where it's gotta go

be aware those aren't your TRUE A/F readings though

...Unless you have a wideband O2 sensor.

I'm looking for one, so if anyone is selling one, hit me up.

Re: Tips for gauges...

he said he's running the wire to the ECU so it's definitely a narrowband (not true A/F)

might I ask why you want a wideband david-b?

It has the small black tube and it came with a sender which I don't know where to put that.

Re: Tips for gauges...

I'm not trying to pick on your n/t, but what kind of gains are you expecting from a tune? What do others get? Have you changed your injectors or airflow amounts enough to warrant the need for a tune?

just curious btw

Re: Tips for gauges...

I was about as close as I have ever been to buying an PLX-300 wideband yesterday. Even had the credit card out. $299 shipped on ebay. I'm kinda supprised I showed that kind of self control.

Re: Tips for gauges...

IDK what kinda gains im going to get. Thats why Im going to do it. Only way to find out.

No new fuel injectures. Don't have enough done to need to change those. Stock ones on the NA are fine for what I got. I'm going to do it. Dont care what other people say. It's going to get done, then we can see results. Only way to find out, right?
