e-brake loose?

my e-brake is loose to the point where if im on a hill i have 2 pull my e-brake all the way up and if im on a flat surface i still have 2 pull the e-brake 5 clicks up before i stop....any suggestions to this problem? mabye i need a new e-brake? how much do they cost?

you dont need new brakes, you need to tighten the wire

You might need both.The cables stretch and the shoes wear down.
