only reverse works?????

ok....i have a 98 4x4 tahoe....i missed a turn on wendesday and went to make a u turn on the dirt next to the road and then as i pushed on the gas it reved like i was in nutural....i tried all the gears (even 4x4) and none of them work execpt reverse.....so i had to drive it to my sisters house in reverse....



does anyone have any ideas what it might be....and is it expensive

Fluid full, linkage connected properly? If so the trans may have internal problems.

fluid is good....i have not checked the linkage yet.....

Ok....the Plot Thickns...

I Now Have Checked The Linkage And The Fluid ...both Are Good....

Yesterday We Pulled The Prndl, Fuse And Now It Will Engage Into Drive....but If I Put The Fuse Back In It Only Has Reverase Again....
And Another Thing With That Fuse Pulled ...now I Can Drive It But It Is A Little Sluggish From A Stop Till Is Switches Gears....

Does Anyone Have Any Insite They Could Share On This One...
