Re: 68 linclin alt. light

I don't think the two problems are related.

The alternator light coming on is most likely an Alternator and/or a Voltage Regulator problem. Most auto parts chain stores will test the charging system for free.

The window problems will take some extensive diagnosis -- I'd start inside the doors, checking first the motors with a hot wire.

If the motors work when hot-wired, I'd suspect a faulty switch panel. Those contacts have seen some use in 38 years -- might just need some contact cleaner on the door panel switches.

I had it checked it's fine all brand new charging system. they are the same problem I took a hot wire and jumped the heater with power and it works just fine, and the windows work but my fusable link blow when i tride to use the windows to much of apower drow so now im left to think that it's a fuse our relay. there has to be a fuse, the alt. light did not come on with the jumper, any more thougts to this matter i would be thinkfull
