dakota windows

well, my power windows all of a sudden quit working. None of the switches work--either side. I replaced the 30 amp circuit breaker. this is a 96. where should i start looking for problems ??

The FIRST thing I'd check is the switches! They are Multi-Contact, with thin copper arms in them that warp, and break. A bad switch that isn't closing one side of the circuit can cause a failure.

Check the Fuses in the Power Distribution Box Under the hood.

If no problem there, Inspect the wire that comes off of the breaker on the back side of the fuse box. Look for melted insulation. There is a pretty good amount of amperage going through there when actuating the window motors.

Also check the plastic connectors that junction the main dash harness to the door harnesses. Good luck. -Jay
