P.O.S Ford taurus

My 1996 ford taurus is messed up i went to change the interior dome light the one in the center when i did this all of the other lights went out along with the power windows the car has aprox.160,000 mi. on it. I have checked all of the fuses inside and out there was nothin wrong with the windows before this happend so i can't figure out why the windows would have anything to do with the interior lights so any info you have except check the fuses would be a big help thanks....

Re: P.O.S Ford taurus

How did you check the fuses? Did you use a test light or a meter?
Check to see if you have power going to the light sockets and window motors. Look at a wiring diagram and see if you can locate a common point of failure. A wiring diagram may be available at autozone.com
Make an enlarged copy, it will make it easier to read and mark off the circuit(s) you are tracing.
Then look at plugs or other connections to see if they are burned or shorted.
