2001 monte carlo

I keep reading that others are having the same problem with a clunking noise in the front, around the steering and brake pedals. Lots of suggestions as to what to do about it. Has anyone had it fix? I keep gettin information that it is a technical service bulletin, but not exactly sure what that means. This car has given me fits; new transmission because the one from factury wasn't big enough to run the 3.8L, motors in windows have both gone out, sun roof only wants to open sometimes, gas gage stopped working, blinkers only work when they want to and the catalytic converter had to be replaced. I love this car, believe it or not, but can't believe everyone is having this many problems. The car does have 124,000 miles on it, but most of this started in the beginning, progressivly got worse. Any thoughts? I'd love to hear them

Well i own a 2000 monte and i really havent had any problems only a few minor ones although i did have the fuel guage issue and come to find out it was the fuel relay that went bad got it fixed and good to go but now i am having this bad clunking noise under hard acceleration,braking and when i shift it from park to drive,to reverse and bck into drive it doesnt do it consistantly every one and a while but thats the only probs ive had i love my car!! If u can let me know where i can find info on the noise id appreciate it

Well, I too have that noise in the front and I believe it was on this web site that I read many issues regarding that. I'll search a little further, but I believe I searched for info on 2001 Monte Carlo in the forum and I went through reading them. Most said they had taken it to the dealer who put grease in something. I will search for the info and get back to you.

I found who you can read. It's on this web page and it's under bbroberts. There are several replies to what sounds like the same problem.
