Exclamation Wiggly Wheel

I replaced all of the parts needed for the front-end rebulid. But when I turn the wheel full turn either way while moving (like reversing) I get a real bumpy ride like going over rocks. Like the wheel is about to come off. What do I need to replace in order to fix this? Note: When I get I a chance I'm gonna check for cracks in the frame I'm hoping this is not the case.

Use a torque wrench to properly torque all your lug nuts down to 100ft-lbs which I believe is the factory spec.

If they aren't it will cause uneven rotor wear as well.

There is a difference between tight and properly torqued.

Get a torque wrench and do it right.

Otherwise I'd guess the wheel is out of round.

Re: Wiggly Wheel

it really doesn't matter as much as youre making it out to, flatlander

check sway bar and bushings... rack and pinion... go over all the stuff you just replaced too, make sure nothing's out of line

Re: Wiggly Wheel

my car (both the one i have now and the one before) did that on slow sharp turns both forward and back. It feels like the tires are sliding. its weird. But im also getting pops and stuff so i dunno.

Re: Wiggly Wheel

Its normal. Too wide tires on those cars. Yours is slightly out of aligment.Very simple. Have it checked.

i get that from time to time, but my tires are no longer perfectly round... if you want to check that just lift up the front, spin the wheel by hand while looking parallel to the top edge, if they're out of round then you'll see a bump or dip

Re: Wiggly Wheel

You might be right I didnt notice this until I put my 16 inch wheels back on 245/50/16. Do you think new front coil springs would help? I put new shocks and coils on the back. Now that ass sits up high. All I need to do now is put on the new struts and wonder bar.

Re: Wiggly Wheel

my old rs did it with 235 15's but they were aftermarket wheels and i dont know what the offsets were on them. My car now has the factory wheels with 245 16 50's.

Re: Wiggly Wheel

The sizes of tires you run dont matter as much. Its your aligment-simple. Iam saying it second time already. It happenes because of the alighment work done by a poor or lazy mechanic. If you want it really done, go to the pros that work on frames and stuff, they do it right. trust me i know what i am talking about.
