i finally WON!!!
last oct i pulled a spark plug and found it covered in oil. i figured why not get a head rebuilt and put on with a new head gasket. i will never do that again. the shop that put on the gasket royally screwed my car. i've been completely through 2 gaskets and a 3rd bad one is still in the a6.
yada...yada...yada... long story short, the gasket was sent to an inspector and he wrote up a report about poor installation. we have been fighting the mechainc since nov. on wed i finally got them to give me $400 back for the first install and gasket they screwed. i seriously considererd asking for money on the second. but decided against it because it probably would have gone to court. anyways....i just thought i'd let ya'll know i finally won one for the little guys  oh yea...that was the first time a mechanic has touched my car....and since the swap was done (and it went as planned) i'll never look back  ami

since I came in here thinking it was gonna be a racing story....GOOD KILL!!
 i had myalternator replaced at the dealer right after I got my car a few years ago, and they raped me for parts on all kinds of shit. I stopped taking it to a mechanic after that DIY kicks ass

You have like every kind of 4G don't you? You should have just used the others and done the work yourself and saved a buttload.
I do ALL my work myself, because if it's already broken I can't mess it up anymore, and plus then I know everything that went on so no other dumbass is messing with my car, plus I learn so much doing it also.
