AutoArt 997

Hi guys,
I have been waiting for the release of 1/24 Porsche 997 Slot Car from AutoArt, anyone know when it will be released.

I am a 1/24 model builder and I build and collect all 1/24 Porsche models. From what I know, none of the common kit companies (Tamiya/Fujimi/Revell) has released or plan to release the new Porsche models such as 997 and 987. Does anyone know any inside info on this front?

Thanks

I'm sure hoping for a few of them myself...997, 996 GT3 RS, 911 Turbo and GT2...all subjects that Tamiya yawned at. I keep checking slot car sites to see when they come out, they're either way behind or they're hedging their bets. The Gallardo and Subaru WRX rally cars look good. But dammit I want the NEW stuff that the kit mfgs. are ignoring

I've also been wanting a few of these. But no one seems to have any info. So I'm hoping an ebay seller has some soon. Good luck.

I wanted and waited for 996Turbo/GT2 and facelifted 996 for a long time so I finally decided to made them from GT3. The Turbo took me six months to fininsh, I painted it dark blue but found this color totally hide the details (e.g. side and front air intakes). I will repaint it to a lighter/brighter color. The facelift 996 took me 2 months to finish.

Are there other Porsche crazy modeller here?

You need to have it hosted. Goto www.imageshack.us to host them. Then copy the pic link at the bottm of that page.

Re: AutoArt 997

I couldn't find any time table either, but damn, AA has a whole bunch of interesting subjects in their future slot car product line in 1/24.
I'm especially interested in...
996 Turbo
996 GT2
996 GT3-R
996 GT3-RS
996 GT3-RSR
997 Carrera
Ford GT
Bugatti Veyron
BMW M3 GTR 2003 Nur.
Viper Competition Coupe 2005

I hope these are actually in 1/24 scale. It'd suck if the Focus and Carrera GT have the same wheelbase (by sharing the same chassis), wouldn't it?

Re: AutoArt 997

That list is over a year old now, I'll be surprised if we see many of them becoming a reality.
