97 Dakota overheating

I Noticed I Had Been Leaking Coolant For A Couple Days, So I Changed The Thermostat. As I Refilled The Coolant, I Noticed Coolant Was Leaking From The Seep Hle On My Water Pump, So I Changed The Pump. I Put It All Back Together (no Longer Leaking) And Turned The Truck On For About 15 Min And The Water Temp Started To Get Hot Again. Also, When I Turn The Heat On, It Is Not Hot. Any Possible Solutions Would Be Appreciated.

i just did the coolant in my truck last week and what i did was have a garden hose with a little warmer water run from my tap to the rad of the tuck. i ran the truck with the cap off and opened the drain plug obousley drain it. i ran the thing untill i saw clear water coming from the drain then i shut the truck off and let everything drain out. threw the plug back on and filled it up with coolant and then started it with the cap off for it to kick out any access air. after about 10 min at idel i reved the engine to 2000 rpm(that working speed for highway driving) and got my wife to hold it there while i dumped more coolant into it. put the cap back on it and continued on my daily driving. lots of heat and not overheating, try something like that!!
