4.8 Liter?

My dad just got a 2004, 1500 Silverado (extended cab), with a 4.8 Liter engine in it. (It's supposed to get pretty good gas milage). Don't know what kind of mileage it gets yet because he hasn't had it that long, but I do know that for an engine that's not much bigger than the one in my S10, it's got quite a bit of power (he says 285 hp.). I'm pretty sure it's a V8 engine, although I'm not positive. But I was wondring, how would a 4.8 do in an S10?

Well you just posted the answer.
4.8 with 285 HP.
That will do it every time.

Re: 4.8 Liter?

From what I understand, they are based off of the LS1, so they oughta be good. It also seems like on other boards I visit, alot of modded trucks have the 4.8L. One in an s10 would be cool too.

Re: 4.8 Liter?

Would a 4.8 swap be very expensive?

Re: 4.8 Liter?

in a few years, when the resorces are there, it will be the same as any other small block... and most new moters are based on the reverse flow of through the heads, then block, then radiatior
