dead battery
looking for people thoughts on this...last sat (19th) my battery charge went way down while i was driving...dimmer lights cd player turned on and off...well that night when i got to a friends house it was dead...so the next morning i left her house and had to jump my car...went to a autoparts store got my battery tested, was told it was bad so i got a new one...end of story well no tonight it started to do the same thing, but about 2 weeks ago i started to hear a squeal when i start my car...figured a loose belt...so could this be because of a loose belt not runing the alternator right or is it just a dead alternator?

your alternator is dead. even a loose belt will still turn the pulley and charge the battery. If the belt was to the point that it wouldnt spin then you would know it cause the sheering would not stop. The cheapest solution is to take it to a certified automotive electrician and have then take the alternator apart and fix the damaged components. With labor it should come out to 90-100 bucks.

Re: dead battery
Or take it to autozone, and have them test your battery and alternator for free. Probably the alternator as musashi said above.

Re: dead battery
Sounds like alternator to me, get it rebuilt, new costs too much for the same result...buy the belt while you're at it.

well its done...finished it up about 20 minutes ago...just in time to go to work, the guy at advance said that it looks like the oil on it (caused by our damn leaky oil caps) could have shorted it out. So i also got a new oil cap...
