Re: 1.4GL 91 hatch modding tips

if you are talking about the euro or UK version of the 1.4 civic or the 1.6 ford fiesta, they both really are hard going to get some decent gains on them. if i had em, id probably use them as beater cars getting from point A to point B. i bet they are pretty good on gas too. i dont think basic bolt ons are going to get you very far either.

not much help here, but, good luck.

Re: 1.4GL 91 hatch modding tips

A Fiesta didn't come with a ZETEC so I'm guessing it's swapped. I've heard of tuning the 1.4 twin carbs. Somebody posted a site a few weeks ago in a thread about it. I think Deadboy started the thread since he has the 1.4 twin carb. Search this forum for "carb" and "1.4."
NGK plugs and wires are probably the most efficient. Maybe a ceramic coated header, port matched, hi-flow cat, custom aluminized exhaust piping and muffler or cat-back...

Its a 1,6 but it has te same carbs as the 1,4 http://home.netvigator.com/%7Ebricheun/index.html
This could help you but you will still need to do something more to the car like get rid of some weight ...the best time i have got 0-60mph is 11,6sec with the stock motor but thats with no bumpers and no passanger seats.

You could sand the intake and outlet manifold for better flow.
and like turtlecrxsi said NGK plugs and wires and so on is the best way to go.
