My brothers car has the 16g turbo with exhaust, HKS BOV, Injen Intake. I was driving it today and the boost gauge started giving me some wierd readings. Normally, the car never boosted more than 10 lbs, it seemed like a steady 8-9 lbs, never more. I took it out today down the road and was gettin higher in the RPMS, above 4000, and the boost was shootin up to 15 lbs. I dont kno if this is supposed to happen or if its bad. Is the car going up to 15lbs in the top end of the car with a 16g turbo normal? If not what can i do to work on it, i saw that a lot of ppl run higher boost without without major tuning, is that normal?
Its a 2nd gen with a 7bolt :-( Also, whats the stock boost on a 2nd gen?

Re: Is This Bad...? (Boost Creep?)
Quote:
If this is the first time you have had it into higher rpms this is probably normal. turbos spool and reach boost dependent on your rpms (because of the amount of exhaust flowing at this point) So if you never got on it more than 4k before than your readings are going to reflect a lower boost level for lower rpms which means the turbo has never really fully spooled. and you are just getting normal boost readings for a full spool. Now if you have gotten on it before and the boost never went above 8-9psi than you might have a problem. The stock boost on a 2g is about 12-14psi. on a 16g with supporting mods you can run aboti 21psi of boost.
