Question 84 camaro posi??

my friend has a sweet posi rear end on his 84 cmarao Z28, im just curious if anyone knows for sure that it will fit in my 85 monte carlo SS, any help is appreciated

I don't know if the entire rear assembly will fit, if you just install the pumpkin you will probably need to change the axles as well.

The whole axle itself wont just bolt it. The Monte rear end has two mounts on the top of the housing for rear control arms to mount to. The Camaro rear doesn't have these mounts becuase it uses the panhard bar style control arms (no upper control arms). Also, the spring perches on the Camaro axle are on the back of the axle tubes, where the Monte has the srings on the top of the tube.

I'm not sure of the dimensions, but the overall lenghth is where you should be concerned. If you're getting the entier Camaro rear, you will most likely have to cut off the brackets off your current rearend and fit them to the new one.
