s13 brake upgrade

ok with all the info i;ve gotten here i'm confussed. will the rotors of the s14 fit to the s13 and how hard is that swap and do the calipiers fit also . if they do than why do some use the rotors from a 300zx and also the calipiers.

Re: s13 brake upgrade

USDM S14 brakes are exactly the same as the USDM S13 brakes. JDM S14 front brakes are like 300ZX fron brakes. They go to 300ZX fcalipers because the stock ones suck and the 300ZX one rule.

so if the s14 and s13 are the same brakes don't any companys make brakes for the s13 and s14 that are just as good as the stock 300zx and are probley easy to install on the s13 s14 cars?

300ZX front brakes are so fucking easy to install on an S13 or S14 that even you could do it. The rears are a little tougher, well they are easy, but it's the handbrake that a bitch, but you don't need the rears, just get the front and the master cylinder and it'll be more then enough, the JDM S14 had 300ZX brakes up front and single piston brakes in back, I think bigger then USDM single piston rear brakes, but still single piston, so don't worry about it.

Re: s13 brake upgrade

yeah front brakes are a bit easier but should take no longer than 2 hours for a rookie doing it...

I heard somewhere that the turbo 300zx had bigger brakes and there was some sort of clearance problem, or am I mistaken? Plus about how much would you be looking to spend if you were to buy the parts needed for the conversion? What is so hard about installing the handbrake?

Re: s13 brake upgrade

you ever think about doing the 300zx swap up front, and to upgrade the rears for a balanced feel steal the brakes from a infinity Q45, all you really have to do is trim the heat sheild, and re-drill the rotors, otherwise they'll bolt right up

What do you mean by a more balanced feel? if you upgraded the front an back brakes off of a 300zx isn't that what your supposed to feel?

Re: s13 brake upgrade

it was, and with the mbc the feel will be alright. Dont worry about the rears.....

i think there are 26mm iron 300z's and 30/32??(cant remember) TT 300z aluminum's. The 26's should bolt right up with no fitment issues....i think lol. Cant remember correctly. But there is lots of info already out there on this, just do a basic search on this and other forums. Should come up with every answer you could possibly want after that.

Re: s13 brake upgrade

All 300ZX brakes up front will have fitment problems with stock wheels, but a 5mm spacer takes care of that, but on most wheels that don't suck, there's no fitment problem. The parking brake is hard because the 240 has a disc parking brake and the 300ZX uses a drum. Master cylinder bolts up if you have ABS, if you don't you can make it fit, but I dunno how.

Ok so a little work for the front an your fine with the 300zx brakes up front. Would it be easier to use the Infinity Q45 brakes in the rear (does it have a disc parking brake)? I'm assuming that you'd have to re-drill the rotors to make em 5 lug? Could you just use the 300zx rotors with the Infinity rear brake setup so you don't hove to drill anything?
