Question Naps or Not?

So, are you a napper or not?

I can't take um, if I go to sleep during the day first of all I wake up fealing like a zombie, and then I can't get to sleep when I should... It screws everything up

Gotta take a nap every once and awhile to make up for those days when you work too hard.

I feel that im really lucky. I love to nap, and can almost fall asleep whenever I want.

If I have an extra 1/2 hr or so, I can just lay back and I am asleep within 5 min. I always feel refreshed after a nap as well

I don't nap often only b/c I usually sleep too long. If I fall asleep during the day it's usually because I'm sick or I'm completely worn out.

They say that if you are tired during the day for no reason you should set an alarm for 40mins. This gives you 10 mins to fall asleep, and 30 minutes to rest up. By taking just a short nap, you wake up sometimes just a little out-of-it, but it shakes off quickly, and you feel refreshed enough to last until the night. It doesn't usually mess up your sleep cycle either. This is what I do when I need a quick pick-me-up.

I call it power napping!
I only nap occassionally, but I make sure that I limit it to 40 minutes at the absolute max. If I don't I feel like crap later and usually have a hard time going to sleep that.

Not much of a napper. Sucks though cuz everytime I've had a nap, I am going to bed much later.:smoker2:

I have a mixed bag response. During the work week, NEVER nap. If I do, like many of you, I won't be able to fall asleep when I need to when I go to bed later that evening.

On weekends, I love naps. Like yesterday, never really got out of nap mode. Just got up for a while, did some web surfing and other computer stuff, then back to bed for about two to three more hours. All throughout the day. Beautiful. And still slept great when I went to bed last night (but the trick here is to remain groggy all day by oversleeping - this is just not feasibly possible in the course of an eight hour work day).

As for power naps, I'm a big believer in these as well. They are the best for staying alert during long road trips. I remember this trip I took down to West Virginia for a weekend last summer. From West Hartford, CT, we're talking 1,278 miles round trip. So I packed up and left West Hartford at about 8 p.m. after a full work day. Drove something like 464 miles until I was about ready to pass out behind the wheel, had a 25-minute power nap at a gas station, and I was just fine after that for the rest of the trip (see I had to be there at 10:00 sharp - and I pulled in at 9:55 a.m.). If power naps didn't work so well, trips like this would not be possible.

Interesting, I shall have to try these "Power Naps"

Or perhaps just go to bed at a normal time like a responsible human being

Same resault. Even when I'm really tired.
It then really screws me up for sleeping later that night.

Why is it you wake up at 6am in the weekend's & can't go back to sleep but struggle to do that during the week????????

Panda's worked all week end including today which is a public holiday!!!

Here is some bad news to all you nappers. A recent test has proen that too much sleep can shorten your life. The average person sleeps 6-7 hours, making the best sleep time 6.5 hours.

So, all you bad nappers like Mr. T and the other old people that must take naps, it's been fun here harassing Moondog's avatar.

Oh yeah, I don't really nao that often, only if it's a really tring day and it does mess me up when I try to goto sleep that night.
