Yeah terrible news, as I said in the rally forum. He was only 35 or so, still very young. Only two years since he was diagnosed with some form of brain tumor/cancer and he has gone already.

At least he leaves with the distinction of winning a dozen or so international rallys and will always be in the history books as 2001 World Rally Champion. I'm pretty sure he was married but don't think he had any children. Has been a very sad year for rallying, with Michael Park killed on the Rally GB, now Burnsie joins him.

Wow thats sad, he was the first guy I remember when I first started liking WRC. I loved seeing that blue Subby whipping ass, and it was always his named being announced. RIP

It was awful news, first Michael Park, now Richard Burns, I suppose I was expecting it to happen, Brain tumors are hard to beat, but this soon? Seems like only yesterday I was reading his interviews having been crowned World Champion.
