87 635csi stalling problems

I have a well kept, black, 1987 635csi that had been in california all its life up untill about 7 months ago when i got it (pennsylvania)
Recently, (past 2 months) i have noticed that it has been stalling unexpectedly. I really have no idea why. It mainly stalls while at idle...traffic lights etc. but it has stalled 3-4 times when i'm driving at higher speeds around 30-40 mph. It hasen't stalled at over 40 but i'm trying to figure out what is causing this.
I had a bunch of exhaust, front suspension & steering work done to the car recently and the mechanic replaced the rear fuel pump but the problem goes on...
Anyone have any experience with this...or have any ideas of what it could be?

Worn cap and rotors are famous for stalling as is the intank transfer pump. I would also perform an AFM "rebuild"; very simple to do and make a difference. Look closely at your intake boot; remove it from the car and inspect.
