Keep an eye on the brakes. They are of incredibly poor quality!

I have an '05 Ford Focus ZX4 with 5600 miles: the entire front brakes will have to be repaired, including the rotors. There will also have to be some repair to the rear brakes.

I have had 3 Ford Rangers since '88, and I never had a problem with any of them that I did not cause.

But now, with this '05 Focus, and with such low mileage!!! ... I'd expect this of Dodge, but not Ford. In the Economy class, this is a really shoddy POS!

I am severely disappointed!!!

Re: any advice?

just because YOU have a problem does not make them all of poor quality.

Re: any advice?

wouldent the brakes always be under warranty untill you are over the milage or time limit, assuming they always do the warranty work?

Re: any advice?

Nope. Consumable or "normal wear and tear" items, like brakes, clutches, windshield wipers and fluids, aren't covered. Misadjusted brakes on the other hand, maybe. I'm still on the originals with my '03 and 50k kms on the clock. It seems to me that the dealer should be fixing this on Ford's dime. There is no reason why they should be acting like this with this little mileage.

Re: any advice?

Oddly enough, my focus, an 06 with 9k has the same break noise. I took it in for the breaks making a strange noise when i stopped and ford claimed to have "cleaned" them and claimed it would not make noise anymore. well as soon as i pull out of the parking lot i hear them squeak the same amount as before, so i turned around and took it back and said no, there not right. they claim its normal noises then. wtf? I seriously hate this car dealership, or ford. I dont know which one it is.

Re: any advice?

Perhaps Ford has cheapened up. My 01 Focus had 35k before I replaced the rotors. I had driven it fairly hard and live in a hilly area, so they took a fair beating. I upgraded the rotors to Brembo Drilled rotors in the process.

any advice?

I am sorry to intrude on your post, I am new to af and had a quick question.
I put a glasspack on my pontiac grand prix about six months ago, two months later the tach would jump up and down irracticaly and then stall. Could the glasspack do this to the engine?

Please forgive me for my intrusion.
