cut springs
i dont know if this question belongs in this furom or not but any ways...
i have a 69 impala and i want to cut the front springs because when i bought it the rear springs were already cut.... i want to get an inch of drop, does anyone know how much to cut??? |

ya do it correctly an buy some lowering springs

umm...if you want to drop it 1" you usually cut about 1" off...

If you mark 1" while they are compressed you will get more than 1" drop. When you remove however much you remove it will lower the rate of the spring.

forgot about that. yes it really depends on your current spring rate. but cutting a little less than 1" gives you a little more than 1"

Fry your as usefull as a 9mm bolt.

back on pt. a friend of mine lowered his car but heating the springs with a torch until they compressed the the proper height. Try it and if it doesn't work have some lowering springs or coil overs on stand by.
