Velocity Stacks
Where abouts would I be able to find 1/24 Velocity stacks (intake trumpets) of different sizes. Preferably from a US based company.
Thanks for the help.

Re: Velocity Stacks
Why not just make your own out of alloy tubing? lot cheaper and fun to try

Detail Master offers some but they're kind of short. . .
I've seen a few offered elsewhere and will edit this post when I find 'em . .

Re: Velocity Stacks
You might try and find a small enough flare tool. pick up some aluminum tubing. cut it to length, flare the end and polish it

Re: Re: Velocity Stacks
Couldn't agree more...I've now taken the tapered flaring piece off my tool and I just compress the tool and the overlength tube together in the vise - the end results are very rewarding.

Re: Velocity Stacks
Sakatsu make them too, check out MediaMix Hobby. Or if you can find a supplier of soldering and PCB repair materials, I used some through hole plating fillets for the intake trumpets on my GT40. It is sometimes surprising where you can find useful modeling odds and sods.

Just my two cents but, the larger craft stores sell a micro screen that I have used to make the screens for velo stacks. It's a super fine mesh and can be formed over a rounded dowel of the same diameter. Then use an exacto to shave the little buggers off.
I can't recall the exact name of the product but, it's sold as mesh for making sculpture armatures . ![]() ~EDIT~ The product is called WireForm by Amaco. I've been using these for years and you can't beat the prices! I've used different styles listed for anything from 1/43rd scale scratch building to Grilles for a 1/8th scale Pocher Kit. Check 'em out!

They come in many different sizes and shapes for that matter. . .
For hobby needs though, you can usually pic a cheap one up at a discount tool shop/discount store.
