Using ethanol for 2001 Ford Taurus??
I have a 2001 Ford Taurus SES that has a Flex Fuel engine. I have been told that it can run by filling it up with ethanol. I have never done this before and have a few questions before I try it.
How does it run with ethanol in the engine? Do I get less miles per gallon by using ethanol? It is cheaper to purchase ethanol for fuel but is it worth it? |

Re: Using ethanol for 2001 Ford Taurus??
Yes, if you have a Taurus FFV your car is built to run on Ethanol and Gasoline. The computer senses what the fuel is and adjust its timing accordingly. Gas mileage should be about the same, but you may notice a slight decrease in power. Its up to you to decide if its worth it or not, but I'd at least try it.
