Using ethanol for 2001 Ford Taurus??

I have a 2001 Ford Taurus SES that has a Flex Fuel engine. I have been told that it can run by filling it up with ethanol. I have never done this before and have a few questions before I try it.

How does it run with ethanol in the engine?

Do I get less miles per gallon by using ethanol?

It is cheaper to purchase ethanol for fuel but is it worth it?

Yes, if you have a Taurus FFV your car is built to run on Ethanol and Gasoline. The computer senses what the fuel is and adjust its timing accordingly. Gas mileage should be about the same, but you may notice a slight decrease in power. Its up to you to decide if its worth it or not, but I'd at least try it.

You will see a significant decrease in fuel mileage. Ours dropped over 100 miles per tank on E85 Ethanol. They seem to run OK on about a 50/50 mix of unleaded and Ethanol. Ethanol also will give you some cold start up concerns also. So if you want to try it, go for it. These observations are from a fleet of 75 flex fuel Tauruses we have in our fleet. Good luck.

I Know This Is Kinda Off Topic But I Couldnt Find It Anywhere Else So Ill Try Here. 2000 Taurus 3.0 6 Leaking Coolant But Cant Seem To Find The Spot. Used Pelletized Solution No Fix.
Any Suggs?

Reply about coolant leak.... Usually when coolant is being lost without visible leaking its either a freeze plug possibly under another part like starter and I dont know if there are any freeze plugs there....but a good possiblity is a leaking gasket....See if you can eyeball the area along where the head attaches to the block or where the intake attaches to the heads......If you have a leak that simply evaporates away before dropping, You will see the tale tale trail of dried antifreeze running down the side of the engine...its a kind of crusty material.....
