making pictures look drawn?

A while back I heard about a program to make a picture look like it drawn in pencil. Anybody know where I can find it if it even exists?

Re: making pictures look drawn?

photoshop can do it under effects. you just need to play with the settings to get the result you want.

Re: making pictures look drawn?

there's photobooths that can do it, you sit down, it takes the pic and you can choose the style for the drawing.

but photoshop is far superior for these tasks, it really is playing around with the effects, that's how i learn stuff on it.

Re: making pictures look drawn?

Or you could post the picture in the automotive art/sketching and drawing section and some of us fine gentleman could literally draw it for you?

Yeah, that sounds like a way better thing to do that photoshop, as it is actually drawn and wont look like it was photoshopped.

Re: making pictures look drawn?

No offense, but it doesn't look drawn. It looks fake to me, I understand your trying to help, but comming from someone who draws cars all the time, it just doesn't have the feel. The lines are too perfect, miniscule details there where in a drawing theyd wouldn't be. It's too...perfect to be a drawing.

I wouldn't say the lines are too perfect, it's just that the shading doesn't look like pencil at all. In fact, why are dark areas not dark grey, but white?

What makes those pictures look photoshopped is that it IS too perfect, not the lines and all but the level of detail, I mean you can basicly see the line of ants on the ground in the picture if photoshop pics it up. Just take these 2 and tell me which looks more drawn to you.

Re: making pictures look drawn?

Neither. Anyone who considers themselves an artist to any extent wouldn't shade like that

But to answer, what looks CLOSER to being drawn? The second because it focuses on a car the way an artist would.
