eclipse & talon compatability

i have a 97 tsi and i was wundrin if the proformance parts i buy for it can also be eclipse. if so what parts just dont go together? its bone stock! there are sooo many parts out there 4 an eclipse rather than the talons. what proformance parts should i get first?? what kind of oil should i use that would be best for my turbo??

First off, read the FAQ on the main page. That will answer many questions you may have.

Second, yes probably about 99% of the parts will be the same. Your motor code is the 4g63, it's the same as what's in the turbo eclipse, so any part you find for that motor works with your car.

The type of oil you use is your decision. Oil is oil. Just stick with something that you like. I personally use the Mobil 5,000 miles 5w30, but many people don't like Mobil oil because it cleans your engine too well, and causes lifter tick in some people's cars. I don't have this problem, so it works well for me. Get a decent oil filter, many use K&N but they are expensive. I use Purolator Pure1.
