Power window problems--put up manually?

I am having problem with my power windows on my 91 Lumina
I have searched this site and have gotten son clue as to what the problem is----I think it is the master switch
I have called around and havent been able to locate a switch yet
Is there a way that I can manually put the window up? It is 20 degrees out and snowing so it makes driving a pain

also--
I read something about "jumping the switch"--will this work and how exactly do I do this
Do run a wire from the battery to the harness and make a connection to the contacts that will make the window go up?

Thanks

Lots of times you can just stick a small flat bladed screwdriver into the gap between the switch and it's housing and you'll hit the contacts and start making the window move. Or you can just take the switch cluster out (1 screw, usually, and lift it out) and see if you can short it from the backside.

Before I do any of that, I will turn the car on, and slam the door while holding the button down at the same time. About half the time this works. It's usually a bad lift motor or a jam in the track if this gets it moving.

...empty gun rack.

Power window

Pull the door panel and disconnect the connector that goes to the window motor. Connect +12v to one of the motor leads while connecting -12v to the other. If the window goes the wrong way reverse the connections. (Having a helper with a second pair of hands makes this task much easier and safer.)
