I have a 98 Jimmy, and it's been having this problem for awhile where I have to mess with key alittle before it will turn and finally last night it wouldn't turn at all. Is there anything that would lock up the ignition, or something I could try to get it started.

Re: Ignition won't turning
I'm not positive, but your tumbler might be bad. Mine on my 96 was about 40 bucks. Also, The ignition switch itself could be stuck or jammed or even wore out. Not sure what one of those costs. The switch should be connected to a long metal rod that runs about halfway down the column, from your key. Not to awful hard to change but still sucks. Hope this helps a little.

Ignition switch. Typical for our trucks.

Re: Key won't turn
Does your key ring have alot of weight to it? I think that sometimes will make the ignition go bye byes.
