302 or 351

i have just aquired a car with a 302 in it and am getting ready to start working on it a little. It already has had an exhust put on so i am going to start on the engine. Im looking to save money in the longrun so what i am wondering is if i will be able to get enough hp out of the 302 to make me happy or should my first upgrade be to just put a 351 down in it?

Well after doing some more reading i have decided to start with some plain bolt-on upgrades that will carry over to the 351 later if i chose to go that route
