perfect launch?

i was driving my friends gsr, trying to do some succesful launches, i stalled some, others i burned-out. which brings my to my question, how do you pull off the perfect launch? well it doesn't have to be perfect.

Re: perfect launch?

rev it as high as possible and feather the clutch out....but if you spin the tires, it was too high of a rev......only rev high enough to get power, but don't lose traction.

In my GSR i can launch at about 3500 consistantly w/o breaking the tires loose....when feathering the clutch out, don't burn it up.....

Re: perfect launch?

ease it out...don't just drop the clutch

you have to figure out when the clutch catches and how it engages....i let my clutch out until it hits and right before the tires spin, push it back in a little while still gaining speed, then i let it out entirely....that usually works, but is a little hard on the clutch.....

Re: perfect launch?

so was it faster or couldn't you tell? The only real way to figure out if you're making progress is tracking the car.....the seat of your pants isn't a real accurate way to tell, but it works....

is that one of those things that you see in all the magazines that measures like the g-force and 0-60 and such?
