180 Thermostat

I've just bought a K&N cai and a catback exhaust for my '05 GTP, and was thinking of putting in a 180 degree thermostat. Do I need to have my pcm reprogrammed for this?

<Sorry if this is off topic> I was wondering about that. Is it true that cat back systems are for sound purposes only? A friend of mine put one of those on. It made the interior of the car reverberate with a droning sound at certain RPMs. I believe that is caused by removing the long slender resonator that runs down the center on the car. But that is pure speculation. Is there power gains from changing from stock?

Actually, I've bought a catback before, for another vehicle, and was really happy with it. My car had no reverberation and had a noticable torque improvement and mpg's. I thought about just changing the mufflers and tips for about $250. Got a stainless catback at LMPerformance for under $500.
