First of all, why do you guys make fun of everyone who posts about windshield washer lights? Just because you don't like them doesn't mean everybody else shouldn't. Your comments aren't solving any problems
Now, on to the problem at hand, what exactly do you mean by battery operated? The car battery or AA or 9V batteries? I've never seen them made that way, but I haven't been shopping around for them. I would recommend hooking them up with a manual switch so you can shut them off if you want to. A lot of cops don't like them. If you wire them to you headlights, you will have to shut off your headlights to turn off your windshield washer lights. Just a suggestion... Here's a cheap schematic type thing I just made up if they are car battery operated. It might help you visualize what you need to do if you want to run a manual switch. |

I used to sell aftermarket parts , and we did have washer lights too... I have never seen one that operated on a 9v battery. We sold like 6 diff types (boss frequented taiwan ALOT), and they are all the same: red wire positive, black negative. I would also recommend wiring them to a switch so that you can turn them off. People have told me stories about gettin 50$ tickets for them (they were blue).

here is the website that i ordered the washer lights from:
JCWHITNEY.com and this is what it says when u get ready to oreder the lights... WINDSHIELD WIPER AND WASHER LED LIGHTS A whole new way to customize and light up the outside of your car Run on batteries (included) Sold in pairs. So it says runs on batteries ... i dunno - if anyone can help me and tell me if that means i dont need to have them hooked up to the head lights let me know. And for installation do i just pop the old washer things out and ut the new ones in?

oh, you mean some of these?
well what we did is hooked them up to the parking lights. Just find the hot wire that runs to your parking lights in the front, wire the positive to them, and then wire the negative to any negative wire you can find. Viola!

And about the lights, I still have not heard of ANY that run on sep batteries. Did you get the nozzle lights or the wiper blade lights? Those might run on tiny batteries in which case you wouldn't have to hook them up. My advice is wait until you get them and check them out for yourself. Maybe a typo on the site you ordered them from If you need any more help, you can PM me and you won't have to deal with these people who criticize your style and opinion. |
