PSP- Playing Music

So whats the deal with getting this thing to play music? I have figured out how to get the music files onto it( I know they are on there because it has less memory space and the computer recognizes it when i plug it in) but the PSP says there is nothing there? Does it have to be in a certain type of file, if so how would I put it into it? Any hepl would be appreciated.

yes it does have to be in a certain type of file. The PSP only supports mp3's or the sony proprietary atrac.

Also make sure your sound files do not have a proprietary DRM included thatthe PSP does not support.

Re: PSP- Playing Music

I did not create a folder on the psp, how do you do that? There is a folder on the computer titled PSP and has a music, game, video, ect in it. What I am doing is going into "My Music" and copying the file into the music section of the PSP folder, then right clcking and sending it to the PSP. I know it is there because when I plug it the comp. recognize it. How do I do make this play, I reallycan't figure it out.

Re: PSP- Playing Music

what i did was connect the psp to the computer with a usb cable and put the psp on usb mode. it comes up on the computer as a removable media drive which came up as "E:" on my computer. i opened that up and created a PSP folder. opened that up and in there i made 3 new folders and named them "video", "photo", and "Music" so that the folders are on the psp(or the memory stick duo actually). just save the music, pics and vids to their respective folders and all should work well..

here's a link to the owners manual in PDF format(free): http://lib.store.yahoo.net/lib/starbattery/psp.pdf

pg 71 tells you how and where to save music. vids and photo's are basically the same too.

Re: PSP- Playing Music

apparently the firmware update just added WMA compatibility if that helps you.

I wish they had a better download service. then i would have perfect access to all my needs (with trying out games and renting movies from gamefly covering the rest of my needs).

Usually when you make a statement you usually include a reasoning..

Why? Why wouldn't you want internet capability/web browser?
