air intakes
I just got my srt-4 and dont know much about it. Do I really need to buy a cold air intake or could I just take the lid off my stock air box it seems like it would pretty much be the same thing?

Re: air intakes
the cold air intake will give you better throttle response and a bit more power

I've already took the lid off and looked it looks pretty much the same as a cold air intake would but I get a real bad flutter when I back off the throttle I put it back on and its fine. I heard the flutter might be from loose intercooler hoses but I havent got a chance to check them yet

Re: air intakes
flutter is normal, its the factory surgevalve opporating. it makes more power because of the smooth transition. filter location also helps. look at it this way. factory piping is small, tight bends, and coregated piping. aftermarket is larger, smoother.
the same reason intakes give power on most cars oh, and i promise you have a loose intercooler hose, infact, odds are...they are all loose |

is it going to hurt the car at all to run around with the airbox lid off or is it not really going to help at all. I tightened the intercooler hoses up and that helped with the flutter alot
