AC Compressor Keeps Clicking On

I just bought a 96 Blazer to use as a winter vehicle and noticed that the AC compressor keeps clicking on even though I have the heater on. Is this normal
or is there something I need to replace?

Re: AC Compressor Keeps Clicking On

The A/C compressor does not always run when the engine is running. It runs when the A/C is turned on (obviously) and when the defrost setting is used. It shouldn't run when you go to vent or floor setting.

Thanks Dave. I was reading a thread from BlazerLT that also mentions that the AC compressor is used when the defroster is on. I've been driving with the defroster on all day, which definitely explains it.
